Prime Minister Narendra Modi has confidently declared that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will retain power in the forthcoming general elections, securing him a third consecutive term. He emphasized that even international leaders are anticipating this outcome, noting, “The elections are yet to happen but I already have invitations from foreign countries for July, August, and September. What does this imply? It means that various nations around the world are entirely confident about the return of the BJP government. They also know – aayega toh Modi hi.”
Modi clarified his aspirations are not for personal power but for national service, stating, “If I had thought of my home, it would not have been possible to build homes for crores of people.”
During the BJP national convention in Delhi, he motivated the party workers, focusing on the importance of the next 100 days and the necessity to engage with every segment of society to earn their trust.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the achievements of the past decade under BJP’s rule, claiming that India has made remarkable progress and is on the path to becoming a developed nation. He urged for even greater efforts in the next five years to maintain this trajectory.
In his speech, he also took a jibe at the Congress party, citing a recent verbal misstep by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and criticized the party for undermining the nation’s security forces.
The BJP has set a high target for the upcoming national assembly elections in 2024, aiming to exceed their previous count by aiming for more than 400 seats. This target is indicative of the party’s significant confidence, bordering on overconfidence, regarding their prospects. The enthusiasm and certainty displayed by the Prime Minister and the BJP leadership reflect a robust campaign strategy and a belief in their governance record. Their two-day convention is a step towards consolidating this position as they prepare for the electoral battle ahead.
