Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla stated the group intends to expand its existing industrial presence in the state.
Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla said on Saturday that the group plans to make further investments in Uttar Pradesh. Speaking to reporters in Varanasi on the sidelines of the 15th convocation of the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Birla noted the group maintains a strong association with the state.
According to The Tribune, Birla did not disclose the specific sectors, timeline, or the amount of the proposed investments. He also clarified that no specific discussions regarding Hindalco, an Aditya Birla Group company, took place during the event.
Birla stressed the need for stronger collaboration between industry and academic institutions. He said that building a bridge between these two sectors could allow businesses to benefit from research conducted in India and help students through research.
The chairman remarked that India is entering 25 consequential years and called for greater engagement between businesses and educational institutions. He added that the opportunities available in India today are perhaps greater than ever before.
Addressing young graduates, Birla said they must continuously learn new things, reinvent themselves, and strengthen their emotional resilience to make the most of current opportunities. He expressed hope that IIT (BHU) graduates would contribute to nation-building.
