BRS alleges Narsingi road alignment change benefits builder and school
The party claims the Congress government's road plan puts 4,000 families at risk to favour a private venture.
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has accused the Congress government of altering a 100-feet road alignment in Narsingi to benefit a private builder, according to Telangana Today. BRS Deputy Floor Leader T Harish Rao and former Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy met residents of several colonies, including Seven Hills and Western Meadows, on Saturday.
Mr Rao alleged that the Revanth Reddy government is risking the homes of 4,000 families living in 2,000 apartments. He claimed that road-widening marks were placed outside homes just before Dasara, with markings extending by 10 metres on one side and seven metres on the other.
A resident of Western Meadows, Dr Nandagopal, alleged the changes were intended to assist a corporate school for the Chief Minister's daughter and high-rise projects by RR Realty. Mr Rao claimed the builder sought the change because the original alignment affected its venture and that the revised plan would lead to the demolition of 10 apartments.
The BRS leader further alleged that the government bypassed prescribed procedures for master plan changes, such as issuing newspaper notifications and conducting public hearings. He also claimed that land was auctioned for Rs 47,000 per square yard despite a market price of nearly Rs 2 lakh.
Mr Rao stated that officials have refused to meet residents or accept their representations. He assured the residents that the BRS would consult with colony representatives and a retired judge to pursue legal action to cancel the 2026 gazette.
