Diljit Dosanjh tells critics not to teach Punjabis how to fight
The singer addressed remarks regarding his film Satluj during his Aura India Tour concert in New Delhi on Friday.
Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh addressed his critics during the opening day of his Aura India Tour 2026 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Friday. Speaking to the crowd, Dosanjh said, "But don't teach Punjabis how to fight."
Dosanjh spoke about reactions to his recent film Satluj, which he said was being mocked on stage. He noted that the film, based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, was something he and others fought for for a long time.
The singer also addressed criticism regarding an earlier statement where he said, "I'm just an artist." This followed questions from a fan about his opinion on exam paper leak protests. The Cockroach Janata Party leadership, including Abhijit Dipke, had criticised him for hypocrisy regarding his stance on student protests versus his involvement in political films.
The sold-out concert took place under enhanced security with traffic restrictions enforced in surrounding areas until midnight. Organisers BookMyShow Live and Live Nation co-produced the tour, which is the India leg of his global Aura Tour.
Dosanjh told the audience he would continue performing across India until December 20. He also thanked a CRPF personnel on stage for her service during the performance.
