Mountaineer Yashwanth Bhukya from Telangana has successfully summited Mount Kalsubai, the highest peak in Maharashtra, according to Telangana Today.
Located in the Sahyadri ranges of the Western Ghats, the 1,646-metre peak is known as the Everest of Maharashtra. Bhukya carried the Indian Tricolour to the summit as part of his “Har Shikhar Par Tiranga” mission.
The mission aims to scale the highest peaks of all 28 Indian states and the seven continents. It also seeks to encourage youth to embrace adventure, discipline, and service to the nation.
Bhukya dedicated the summit to Sanjay Bahadur, Member of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) in the Ministry of Finance. He stated that Bahadur provided encouragement, guidance, and support when finding sponsorship was difficult.
Bhukya said that Bahadur taught him to treat every individual with dignity and respect regardless of their circumstances. He added that the summit was a meaningful way to express his gratitude for Bahadur's kindness.
