More than 400 people received healthcare services and medicines during the camp held under Operation Samaritan at Ledrai Dewan High School.
The Spear Corps of the Indian Army held a large-scale medical camp at Ledrai Dewan High School in Machmara, Unakoti district, on Saturday. According to ANI, the event was conducted under Operation Samaritan to support healthcare in remote locations.
The camp was a collaborative effort involving the Machmara Primary Health Centre and the District Health and Family Welfare Society of Unakoti. A combined group of military doctors and civilian medical staff provided various healthcare services to local residents.
The medical team consisted of a physician, an orthopaedic specialist, nursing staff, laboratory technicians, and other personnel. Over 400 beneficiaries, including rural residents, ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, and next of kin of armed forces personnel, attended the camp.
Participants received general check-ups, orthopaedic evaluations, and consultations for both acute and chronic illnesses. The team also performed basic diagnostic tests and distributed medicines, paediatric syrups, nutritional supplements, and antiseptics.
The initiative included educational sessions on personal hygiene, nutrition, and the prevention of seasonal and lifestyle-related diseases. Indian Army representatives stated that the Spear Corps aims to bridge healthcare gaps in remote areas and strengthen ties with the civilian population.
