The DMK women's wing staged an agitation in Chennai over rising commodity prices, power outages, and safety concerns for women and children.
DMK Deputy General Secretary Kanimozhi led a protest in Chennai on Saturday against the C Joseph Vijay-led government, according to the Deccan Chronicle.
The agitation, conducted by the DMK women's wing, targeted the ruling TVK over an alleged breakdown of law and order and the lack of protection for women and children.
Protestors, including Kanimozhi and other women functionaries, wore black sarees to highlight escalating violent crimes, such as a daylight murder in Salem and a jailbreak in Theni district.
The party also expressed concern regarding public safety and the rising prices of commodities.
The demonstration further criticised the ruling party for power outages and soaring inflation in the state.
