Stalin urges CM Vijay to address women's protest on prices and law and order
DMK president M.K. Stalin said Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay must listen to the DMK women's wing regarding rising costs and safety.
DMK president M.K. Stalin on Saturday said Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay should respond to a demonstration organised by the DMK women's wing.
According to The Hindu, the protest highlighted the rising prices of essential goods and the state's law and order situation.
In a social media post, Stalin stated that the women have sounded an alarm. He said the government should focus on governance instead of targeting critics or preparing for the upcoming byelection.
Stalin said the poor in Tamil Nadu are struggling due to an unprecedented increase in the cost of essential commodities. He noted that women are angry about the steep hike in the prices of provisions and electricity bills.
The DMK president also said the law and order situation in the state is a cause for concern. He claimed that crimes against women are increasing every day and that women are afraid to let their children go out to play.
