Telangana invites solutions for seven public-sector challenges
The Telangana Innovation Startup Challenge is open for applications from innovators and companies until November 30, 2026.
The Telangana government has launched the Telangana Innovation Startup Challenge (TISC) to find solutions for seven priority public-sector issues in rural and urban areas, according to The Hindu.
The initiative, which was introduced at the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026 curtain raiser in New Delhi last week, allows selected startups to work with government departments on pilot projects and potential long-term contracts.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to seek innovations for solar-powered irrigation, which is the primary challenge. Participants should aim to create low-cost solar pumps or deep borewell retrofit kits that cost 30 per cent less, featuring theft-resistant panels and tamper-proof grid metering.
Other identified challenges include creating rapid testing kits for food adulteration, AI systems for kitchen hygiene in hostels, and satellite technology to detect encroachments on government lands and lakes.
The challenge also seeks automated pothole mapping via vehicle cameras, durable road repair materials, needle-free haemoglobin screening devices for Anganwadi workers, and AI tools for Telugu reading assessments.
Applications from Indian and global innovators, researchers, and academic institutions can be submitted through the TISC portal until November 30, 2026.
