We established peace, did not buy it, says Manoj Sinha

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated that a zero-tolerance policy has eliminated over 780 terrorists since 2020.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on Saturday that the government established peace in the region through a zero-tolerance policy rather than buying it. Speaking at a function for the 8th Union Territory Foundation Day and the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Sinha said more than 780 terrorists have been eliminated since 2020.

According to The Hindu, Sinha noted that the abrogation of Article 370 provided citizens with freedom from fear and access to rights that had been denied for decades. He stated that terror, separatism, and stone-pelting have given way to democracy and development.

The Lieutenant Governor also highlighted ongoing actions against narco-terrorism. He said thousands of drug smugglers and peddlers have been arrested this year, leading to the attachment of illicit assets and the demolition of drug-funded mansions.

Sinha expressed a vision for the region to emerge as a model of prosperity by 2047, featuring a modern economy, world-class healthcare, and excellent education. He emphasised that unity is sustained through justice and public trust.

The event was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, and J&K Waqf Board chairperson Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi. However, no leaders from regional parties, including the National Conference, attended the functions.
