Uttar Pradesh Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar on Sunday said that Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav is responsible for the arrest of senior party leader Azam Khan. Speaking to reporters in Ambedkar Nagar, Rajbhar said the Enforcement Directorate's action against Khan stems from alleged irregularities during the previous Samajwadi Party government, according to The Hawk.
The minister stated that Khan is facing consequences for actions taken during the Samajwadi Party government. He said the Enforcement Directorate must have arrested Khan in connection with a disproportionate assets case and suggested that those who engaged in looting during their time in power will be caught.
Regarding Jauhar University, Rajbhar said proper accounts should have been maintained for money spent on constructing buildings on government land. He noted that Akhilesh Yadav was Chief Minister at the time and that the High Court has ordered the demolition of buildings constructed on government properties.
Rajbhar also responded to an alleged religious conversion case at King George’s Medical University, calling for an investigation. He said that if people are found guilty of such activities, action should be taken against them.
The minister further criticised Samajwadi Party leader S.T. Hasan for remarks concerning the birthplace of Lord Ram. Rajbhar questioned Hasan's educational background and stated that the country knows where Lord Ram was born.
