The storm is forecast to cross the coast between Nellore and Narsapur as a severe cyclonic storm.

Andhra Pradesh is bracing for Cyclone Murasu, which is forecast to make landfall between Nellore and Narsapur during the early hours of November 3, according to The Indian Express.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that the system, which formed as a deep depression in the southwest Bay of Bengal, is expected to strengthen into a severe cyclonic storm by November 2.

At the time of landfall, the storm is predicted to bring sustained winds of 100 to 110 km/hr, with gusts reaching up to 120 km/hr.

The IMD has advised the complete suspension of fishing and shipping operations off the Andhra Pradesh coast and southwest Bay of Bengal until the afternoon of November 3.

Very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall, ranging from 115mm to over 200mm in 24 hours, is forecast across coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to remain prepared for relief and rescue operations and to move personnel and equipment to vulnerable areas.

In Odisha, the government has ordered the evacuation of people from hilly terrain and low-lying areas, while the Ganjam district administration has been told to ensure stocks of food and water are available.
