Delhi Police arrest three for pro-Khalistan graffiti at metro stations

The arrests follow the discovery of graffiti targeting singer Diljit Dosanjh at Jahangirpuri and Shastri Nagar metro stations.

Delhi Police's Special Cell has arrested three people, including a woman, for allegedly writing pro-Khalistan graffiti at two metro stations in the national capital, according to Times Now and ANI.

The accused have been identified as Sumeet, also known as Raftar, Sumit Kumar, also known as Kaka, and Gurpreet. The graffiti was discovered at Jahangirpuri and Shastri Nagar metro stations ahead of singer Diljit Dosanjh's concert on October 30.

The graffiti, which read "DILJIT SINGH QUAM D GADDAR KHOON D BADLA SFJ KHALISTAN", expressed support for the banned separatist organisation Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) and Khalistan ideology, police said.

According to the police, Sumit Kumar was the main instigator who was allegedly contacted by an SFJ-linked associate via an encrypted messaging application. The associate reportedly provided graffiti templates and offered financial rewards for painting them at prominent locations.

The trio allegedly arrived in Delhi on October 28. Sumeet allegedly painted the graffiti at Jahangirpuri Metro Station and recorded a video, while Sumit and Gurpreet allegedly carried out the graffiti at Shastri Nagar Metro Station.

Police further claimed that Sumit Kumar also allegedly painted graffiti near GTK Bypass on October 30, an aspect that is being investigated separately.
