Carlsberg, Pernod Ricard and Coca-Cola advance India IPO plans

Three global beverage companies are preparing to tap the Indian capital market through potential public listings.

Global beverage companies Carlsberg, Pernod Ricard and The Coca-Cola Company are moving forward with plans to list their Indian businesses, according to a Business Standard report.

Danish brewer Carlsberg has filed an updated draft red herring prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Board of India on October 28. Carlsberg Chief Financial Officer Ulrica Fearn said the company is now engaging in follow-on activities, such as arranging meetings with potential investors.

Carlsberg Chief Executive Officer Jacob Aarup-Andersen confirmed the IPO is progressing but did not provide a timeline. The company reported a 2.2 per cent decline in revenue to Rs 8,708.8 crore for FY26.

Pernod Ricard is continuing preparatory work for a potential listing of its Indian business, which is currently awaiting board approval. Executive Vice President of Finance and Technology Mauve Croizat said the board requested these steps to ensure readiness if a decision is made in the coming months.

The French spirits maker reported 19 per cent sales growth in India during the September quarter. For Pernod Ricard, India is its second-largest market globally after the US.

The Coca-Cola Company is exploring a potential IPO for its Indian bottling operations through Hindustan Coca-Cola Holdings. President and Chief Financial Officer John Murphy said the company would provide updates as appropriate regarding the exploration of the listing.
