Lewis Hamilton secures first Ferrari pole position at Mexico Grand Prix
The 41-year-old driver edged out George Russell to claim his 105th career pole position at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
Lewis Hamilton secured his first pole position for Ferrari at the Mexico Grand Prix at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, according to The Hawk.
The 41-year-old driver finished ahead of Mercedes driver George Russell, while Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc placed third in the qualifying session.
Hamilton noted that the weekend had been difficult due to an engine issue on Friday and a rake running during FP1, which prevented him from completing a long run.
He stated that the team had worked well on the car's setup and had learned from the previous race to achieve the result.
This marks Hamilton's 105th career pole and his first since the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix. He is the oldest polesitter in the sport since Mario Andretti at the 1982 Italian Grand Prix.
Hamilton expressed his happiness regarding the achievement, saying that his passion for the sport remains strong and that he hopes to deliver for his supporters in the next race.
