Sreenidi Deccan FC secured a 1-0 victory against Rajasthan United in the Indian Football League 2026-27 season opener at the Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday, according to Sportstar.
Nishu Kumar scored the decisive goal for the Deccan Warriors in the 66th minute to earn the team three points.
The match remained goalless at half-time after several close calls, including a strike from Sreenidi Deccan's David Castañeda that hit the crossbar just before the drinks break.
Rajasthan United also hit the crossbar in the second half through a left-footed strike from P. Christopher Kamei.
The winning goal came after Lalromawia played the ball to Adriano Castanheira, who laid it off to Castañeda. Castañeda then passed to the overlapping Nishu Kumar, who curled a finish into the far corner.
Rajasthan United's Diego Maurício narrowly missed the post with a right-footed effort, but Sreenidi Deccan goalkeeper Amrit Gope made two crucial saves to maintain the lead.
