IKF aims to include kabaddi in 2030 Commonwealth Games

International Kabaddi Federation President Kasani Gnaneshwar said efforts are underway to secure a place for the sport in the 2030 Commonwealth Games.

The International Kabaddi Federation (IKF) is working to include kabaddi in the 2030 Commonwealth Games, according to Telangana Today.

IKF President Kasani Gnaneshwar said on Sunday that the federation is also working towards a goal of getting the sport included in the 2036 Olympic Games.

Speaking after an IKF Executive Committee meeting in Hyderabad, Gnaneshwar said Olympic inclusion would provide greater international recognition and opportunities for players.

The federation is planning to organise a Kabaddi World Cup and launch a Women's Kabaddi Premier League in the near future.

Gnaneshwar said countries interested in hosting the Kabaddi World Cup have been invited to submit proposals, with the host to be finalised after reviewing expressions of interest.

The IKF official stated that 62 countries have obtained membership in the federation to participate in kabaddi.
