Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah marries Nidhi Razdan
The marriage was solemnised under the Special Marriage Act in New Delhi on Friday.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah married television journalist Nidhi Razdan on Friday, according to reports from Hindustan Times, The New Indian Express and Deccan Herald. The ceremony was solemnised under the Special Marriage Act in New Delhi with family members from both sides serving as witnesses.
The couple announced the news on social media on Saturday. Abdullah, 56, posted photographs on X with the caption, “A new journey began yesterday,” while tagging Razdan. The 49-year-old journalist also shared the photographs, writing, “It’s done bro.”
Wedding functions were held in both Srinagar and New Delhi. Attendees included Abdullah's parents, Farooq Abdullah and Mollie, his three sisters, and close relatives. Razdan's parents, M K Razdan and Sarla Razdan, also attended the functions.
This is the second marriage for both individuals. Abdullah was previously married to Payal Nath in 1994, and the couple had two sons, Zahir and Zamir. Their marriage was formally dissolved by the Supreme Court in July following an amicable settlement.
Razdan was previously married to Neelesh Misra in 2005, a marriage that ended in divorce in 2007.
