Mojtaba Khamenei warns US and Israel to avoid attacks on Iran

The Iranian Supreme Leader told military commanders to ensure maximum combat readiness and prepare an immediate response to any renewed hostilities.

Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has ordered the nation's armed forces to react strongly and immediately to any fresh military or terrorist strikes from the US or Israel. He stated that Tehran will decide the timing and terms for ending hostilities if attacked.

During a meeting with three senior military commanders, Khamenei called for high combat readiness. He said any threat must face an effective response that is not restricted by geography, according to a statement from his office reported by Axios and Tehran Times.

Khamenei directed military leaders to update their target databases to include all physical and non-physical assets of the US and Israel. He also urged the expansion of domestic defence capabilities and the use of new technologies in security infrastructure.

The commanders, including Armed Forces Chief of Staff Major General Ali Abdollahi, Army Commander Major General Amir Hatami, and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps chief Major General Ahmad Vahidi, briefed the leader on preparedness. They reported increased production of ammunition, combat weapons, and reconnaissance equipment.

Security official Mohsen Rezaei also threatened devastating blows against aggressors and said Tehran would use new weaponry if attacked. Rezaei noted on X that diplomacy is possible if Washington meets seven conditions, including lifting sanctions and reducing its regional military presence.

While US Vice-President JD Vance reportedly sent a negotiation framework to Iran, US President Donald Trump said Washington could strike Iran's remaining nuclear facilities. Trump described Tehran as not very reliable despite saying discussions were going well.
