Mohun Bagan Super Giant hosts Punjab FC in Indian Super League fixture
Punjab FC arrives unbeaten for the Saturday match at Salt Lake Stadium, holding seven points from three games.
Mohun Bagan Super Giant will host Punjab FC at the Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday in an Indian Super League match.
The two teams are separated by one point in the standings. Punjab has seven points from three matches, while Bagan has six points from three games.
Punjab enters the game unbeaten after a 3-2 away win against Churchill Brothers, where Sanathoi Singh scored a stoppage-time goal. Bagan seeks to build on a 1-0 victory over Chennaiyin FC at the same venue, secured by a Manvir Singh strike in the 85th minute.
The match renews a recent rivalry following an IFA Shield semifinal earlier this month. That game ended in a goalless draw after 120 minutes before Bagan won via a penalty shootout.
Bagan holds a record of winning all five previous ISL meetings against Punjab, including a 3-2 win in April. Punjab aims to end that run and establish itself as a title contender.
