Telecom connectivity restored in 99 per cent of Ganjam blocks

The State Government is working with service providers to fix communication in the remaining areas affected by the cyclone and flash floods.

Telecom services have been restored in 99 per cent of blocks in Odisha's Ganjam district following a recent cyclone and flash floods, according to Sambad English.

As of 10 am on November 1, BSNL and other providers had completed restoration in five major areas, including Brahmapur, Bhanjanagar, Ganjam, Chhatrapur and Khallikote.

Work continues in the remaining affected locations, which include one block under BSNL and Airtel networks and two blocks under Jio coverage.

Officials stated that submerged power plants, diesel generator sets, batteries and Base Transceiver Stations will be made functional once floodwaters recede.

The State Government is overseeing the recovery and working with all telecom companies to speed up the process.

Reliable mobile connectivity is considered a priority for residents to get information and assistance during emergencies.
