Rajasthan places IPS officer Prashakha Mathur on awaiting posting list

The move follows an Anti-Corruption Bureau investigation into property transactions involving her husband, IAS officer Shikhar Agrawal.

The Rajasthan government on Saturday placed 1995-batch IPS officer Prashakha Mathur on the awaiting posting orders (APO) list for administrative reasons, according to Times Now.

Mathur, who served as Additional Director General of Police (Planning, Modernisation and Welfare) in Jaipur, is the wife of IAS officer Shikhar Agrawal.

Agrawal, a 1993-batch officer, was placed on the APO list on October 28 following allegations regarding property transactions involving him and his family.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is investigating Agrawal for allegedly misusing his official position to provide undue benefits to a private company.

The ACB alleges that Agrawal, his wife, and other family members purchased 40 villas and cottages in Udaipur and Alwar districts at prices substantially below market value.

ACB Director General Govind Gupta said a preliminary inquiry found prima facie evidence that Agrawal facilitated construction relaxations and a special financial package for the company.

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has demanded a CBI and ED probe, questioning why the properties were allegedly sold for Rs 15 lakh each.
