An Army helicopter is being mobilised to rescue the group following heavy snowfall in the Dolpa district.
Security personnel are working to rescue six Indian tourists, including two women, who have been stranded in Nepal's Shey-Phoksundo National Park since Saturday afternoon, according to The Hindu.
The tourists, identified as Moumita Halder, Piyali Koley, Jajla Trivedi Kumar, Aditya Singha, Diplina Bishwas and Rajesh De, were in the Dho area of Shey Phoksundo Rural Municipality's Ward No. 8.
Dolpa Chief District Officer Junu Dhakal told PTI that the group had proceeded towards the lake area despite warnings from security personnel and their Nepali guide.
Dhakal said the tourists left the guide and communication with them was disrupted on Saturday night, before being completely lost on Sunday morning.
The group had gone to the area which was covered in heavy snow, according to Dhakal.
Authorities have located the area where the tourists are stranded and an Army helicopter is expected to arrive for the rescue, according to a press release from the District Administration Office, Dolpa.
