Indian Army organises mega medical camp in Tripura's Unakoti district

More than 400 people received healthcare services and medicines during the camp held under Operation Samaritan at Ledrai Dewan High School.

The Spear Corps of the Indian Army held a large-scale medical camp at Ledrai Dewan High School in Machmara, Unakoti district, on Saturday. According to ANI, the event was conducted under Operation Samaritan to support healthcare in remote locations.

The camp was a collaborative effort involving the Machmara Primary Health Centre and the Unakoti district Health and Family Welfare Society. A combined group of military doctors and civilian medical staff, including a physician and an orthopaedic specialist, attended the camp.

Over 400 beneficiaries, including rural residents, ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, and next of kin of armed forces personnel, participated. They received consultations, diagnostic tests, and health screenings for various acute and chronic illnesses.

Medical personnel distributed essential medicines, nutritional supplements, paediatric syrups, and antiseptics to those in need. The team also held sessions to teach participants about nutrition, personal hygiene, and preventing seasonal diseases.

Indian Army representatives stated that the Spear Corps aims to close healthcare gaps in remote areas and build trust with the civilian population. Local leaders and residents expressed gratitude to the Army and district health authorities for the services.
