Mamata Banerjee praises CJP activists before INDIA bloc rally in Delhi

Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke met the Trinamool Congress leader to thank her for supporting youth-led protests.

Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee praised Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) activists on Saturday in Delhi ahead of an INDIA bloc rally at Ramlila Maidan. According to Telangana Today, Banerjee commended the group for their role in protests against the Election Commission and the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke met Banerjee to express gratitude for her support during the outfit's first protest at Jantar Mantar regarding the NEET paper leak issue. Dipke noted that Banerjee stood firmly with the movement when leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were arrested by the Delhi Police.

While expressing solidarity with the upcoming Sunday rally over allegations of "vote chori", Dipke stated that the CJP would not join the protest. He said the organisation would retain its independent identity as a neutral platform.

Banerjee said the activists are the pioneers and founders of the movement and acknowledged their efforts in sustaining protests despite difficulties. She invited Dipke and others to West Bengal to organise programmes there.

The meeting occurred one day before the opposition parties are set to raise issues of alleged electoral irregularities at the Ramlila Maidan rally.
