Telangana: Woman and two lovers arrested for husband's murder

Banswada police arrested Gummadi Savitha and two men for allegedly killing her husband and dumping his body in a lake.

The Banswada police have arrested a woman and her two lovers for the alleged murder of her husband in Hanmajipet village, Telangana. The accused were apprehended on October 30 following an investigation into the death of 26-year-old Gummadi Kashiram.

The victim, a daily-wage labourer, was found dead at Pachera Cheruvu on the night of October 23. While a suspicious death case was initially registered based on a complaint from his father, Chakali Bhumayya, a post-mortem report led police to alter the case to murder.

Police identified the accused as Gummadi Savitha, the wife of the deceased, along with Chintakindi Ramu, 26, and Pasupula Santhosh, 25. Both men are residents of Hanmajipet village.

During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed that Savitha conspired with Ramu and Santhosh to kill her husband. Police said the group took Kashiram out on the pretext of consuming liquor on October 23.

The police stated that while Kashiram was intoxicated, Ramu strangled him with a nylon rope while Santhosh held his hands. The accused then allegedly dumped the body in the pond to make it look like an accident.

A case has been registered under Sections 103, 238 r/w 3(5) BNS. The police have seized mobile phones and other materials, and the accused have been produced before the court for judicial remand.
