Tiruppavai street processions to be held in 84 Divya Desams

The Bhagavath Ramanuja Sampradaya Sabha plans to organise the processions in Tamil Nadu on the second Saturday of the Tamil month of Margazhi.

The Bhagavath Ramanuja Sampradaya Sabha (BRSS) has decided to organise Tiruppavai street processions in 84 Divya Desams across Tamil Nadu, according to The Hindu.

The decision was made during the first anniversary of the sabha at Srirangam on Sunday. The sabha operates under the aegis of Sri Ramanuja Acharya Peetam (SRAP).

The proposed processions will take place on the second Saturday of the Tamil month of Margazhi. The BRSS intends to hold these in localities with ordinary and economically weaker sections of society to reach a wider audience.

The celebration was presided over by SRAP working president Thirukovilur Dehalisa Ramanujacharya Jeeyar. The sabha's Chief Executive Officer, Americai V. Narayanan, was also present.

Narayanan said the sabha is committed to preserving and propagating the philosophy and teachings of Sri Ramanujacharya for future generations. The sabha's founding charter was released at the function.

An online e-magazine titled Vaachasudha was launched during the event. More than 20 jeeyars and acharyas, including Mudaliandan Swamigal and Melkote Ayi Swamigal, participated in the celebration.
