Andhra Pradesh seeks help from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka for cyclone power restoration

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu requested manpower and equipment to repair electricity infrastructure following potential damage from Cyclone Murasu.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu requested support from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka on Sunday to help restore electricity infrastructure in anticipation of Cyclone Murasu. According to The Hindu, Naidu spoke with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C.

Joseph Vijay and Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to ask for necessary equipment and personnel.

Both Chief Ministers responded positively and promised to provide all possible assistance, Naidu said. He noted that Andhra Pradesh officials will coordinate with counterparts in both states to manage the deployment of machinery and workers.

The request comes as the state anticipates damage to power infrastructure, specifically the uprooting of electricity poles. The state government has placed electricity department teams that finished work in areas hit by Cyclone Arnab on standby for deployment to regions likely to be affected by Murasu.

In the meantime, electricity department personnel from Telangana are already working to repair infrastructure damaged by Cyclone Arnab.
