Indian Army organises mega medical camp in Tripura's Unakoti district

More than 400 people received healthcare services and medicines during the camp held under Operation Samaritan at Ledrai Dewan High School.

The Spear Corps of the Indian Army held a large-scale medical camp at Ledrai Dewan High School in Machmara, Unakoti district, on Saturday. According to ANI, the event was conducted under Operation Samaritan to provide healthcare to remote areas.

The camp was a collaborative effort involving the Machmara Primary Health Centre and the Unakoti district's District Health and Family Welfare Society. A combined group of military doctors and civilian medical staff offered specialised services to local residents.

The medical team featured a physician, an orthopaedic specialist, nursing staff, and laboratory technicians. Over 400 beneficiaries, including rural residents, ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, and next of kin of armed forces personnel, attended the camp.

Participants received general check-ups, orthopaedic evaluations, and consultations for various illnesses. The camp also provided diagnostic tests, health screenings, and the distribution of medicines, nutritional supplements, and antiseptics.

Beyond clinical services, the initiative included awareness sessions on nutrition, personal hygiene, and the prevention of seasonal diseases. Indian Army representatives stated that the Spear Corps aims to bridge healthcare gaps in remote regions.
