Couple moves from Bengaluru to Goa for slower lifestyle
Radhika and Ekansh shared a breakdown of the Rs 75,500 in additional expenses incurred during their relocation.
A couple, Radhika and Ekansh, moved from Bengaluru to Goa to seek a slower-paced life, according to reports by India Today and Kalinga TV.
The pair, who had been planning the relocation for more than a year, shared a video on Instagram documenting their journey and the costs involved in starting over.
The additional cost of moving amounted to Rs 75,500. This included Rs 15,000 for packing and storing belongings in Bengaluru and Rs 24,000 for transporting luggage to Goa.
The couple spent Rs 10,000 on a road trip involving car servicing, petrol, and pollution under control (PUC) certification. They also spent Rs 5,000 on petrol while visiting approximately 12 houses.
Other expenses included Rs 12,000 for food, groceries, and eating out, plus Rs 9,500 to make their new home functional by hiring a carpenter and plumber and setting up appliances.
While they spent Rs 45,000 on Airbnb accommodation during three weeks of house hunting, they excluded this from the relocation total as it was comparable to their Bengaluru rent. Radhika and Ekansh stated the expenditure was worth it, noting that people often spend Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 on a five-day Goa trip.
