Chiefs linked to $15 million wide receiver trade target Brian Thomas Jr
Kansas City is reportedly interested in acquiring the Jacksonville Jaguars receiver as the NFL trade deadline approaches.
The Kansas City Chiefs are among three teams interested in acquiring Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr, according to a report by the Times of India citing Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.
The Chiefs are reportedly viewing the 24-year-old as a preferred target, while the Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Commanders also show interest. Indianapolis Colts wideout Josh Downs and Minnesota Vikings receiver Jauan Jennings have been mentioned as alternatives.
Thomas is currently playing on a four-year rookie contract worth approximately $15 million, which includes a fifth-year team option. He recorded 1,282 receiving yards as a rookie but saw that figure drop to 707 yards in 2025.
Entering the latest trade discussions, Thomas has recorded 10 catches for 117 yards and two touchdowns this season. ESPN’s Ben Solak suggested that Thomas could be nearing the end of his tenure in Jacksonville.
A reunion with former Chiefs star Tyreek Hill remains another option for the team. However, Hill is recovering from a serious knee injury sustained with the Miami Dolphins and faces legal concerns.
The Chiefs must now decide between the potential of a younger player like Thomas or the familiarity of Hill as the trade deadline nears.
