Kerala to face Gujarat in Ranji Trophy Elite Group C match
Kerala seeks to bounce back from a heavy defeat against Bengal as they travel to Ahmedabad to play Gujarat on Monday.
Kerala will face host Gujarat in an Elite Group C Ranji Trophy fourth round match at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday, according to Sportstar.
The Kerala team enters the match following a 287-run defeat against Bengal at home. The side has struggled with a brittle opening pair, an inconsistent middle order, and an inability to dismiss the opposition's lower order.
Gujarat started the season with a 10-wicket win and a bonus point against Odisha, but later conceded first innings leads to Delhi and Maharashtra in away matches.
Gujarat captain Chintan Gaja said he expects the surface to help spinners in the later stages of the match. He noted that Kerala has three good spinners but stated that Gujarat has a balanced team.
Gaja added that Siddharth Desai is in good form and is expected to lead the Gujarat attack.
Kerala captain Vishnu Vinod attributed the loss to Bengal to a collective team failure. He said the team will look to play to its strengths and focus on executing things within their control.
