Gujarat launches AC Vista dome coach bus service at Statue of Unity

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first of five specialised buses designed with transparent sky-view roofs for tourists.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first AC Vista Dome Coach bus service at the Statue of Unity to boost tourism in Gujarat, according to ANI. The service is a joint initiative by the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) and Gujarat Tourism under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi.

The five exclusive buses were manufactured in India to international standards and feature a transparent sky-view roof with a dome design. This allows passengers to view the sky and surrounding landscapes from air-conditioned cabins. Each bus has a capacity of 23 passengers with revolving, fully adjustable reclining seats, plus one seat for the driver.

The buses are equipped with amenities including a premium LED Smart TV, CCTV cameras, a mini refrigerator, mobile charging facilities, and a coffee and tea-making machine. Safety features include an advanced fire detection and suppression system, toughened glass, and emergency hammers.

Each bus costs ₹2.19 crore and features exterior graphics of sites such as the Somnath Temple, Dwarka Temple, Gir National Park, and the White Rann of Dhordo. Two of the five planned buses have been inaugurated, while the remaining three are scheduled for inauguration within the next two months.

Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi stated that similar services will be introduced in phases at other heritage routes and tourist destinations across Gujarat. Passengers can book tickets for the service through the GSRTC website.
