Sajjan Singh Yadav to succeed Atal Dulloo as J&K Chief Secretary

The Jammu and Kashmir administration held a farewell ceremony in Srinagar for retiring Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Sunday.

The Jammu and Kashmir administration organised a farewell ceremony in Srinagar on Sunday for Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo following his retirement on October 31, according to NorthBlockSouthBlock. Dulloo, a 1989-batch IAS officer, had been serving in the role since December 1, 2023.

The ceremony was attended by Administrative Secretaries, the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, Deputy Commissioners, and various Heads of Departments. Colleagues at the event noted Dulloo's work regarding interdepartmental coordination, public service delivery, and the implementation of development projects.

In his farewell speech, Dulloo thanked the government employees and officers of Jammu and Kashmir for their support. He stated that the achievements made during his term were the result of collective work by officials at different administrative levels.

Dulloo's career included roles as Deputy Commissioner in Udhampur, Rajouri, and Baramulla, as well as serving in the Union Ministry of Rural Development from November 2013 to September 2018. He also held positions in the Finance, Health, and Tourism departments.

The Centre has appointed Dr. Sajjan Singh Yadav, a 1995-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, to take over the position. Per a Ministry of Home Affairs order, Yadav will begin his term on November 1, 2026, or when he officially takes charge, depending on which occurs later.
