Karnataka Industries Minister refutes claims of Honda exit from state
Minister M B Patil dismissed Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy's allegations that Honda Motor is planning to move out of Karnataka.
Karnataka Industries Minister M B Patil on Sunday refuted claims made by Union Heavy Industries Minister H D Kumaraswamy that Honda Motor plans to leave the state, according to BusinessLine and The Economic Times.
Patil described the allegations as baseless and politically motivated, stating that such remarks could damage efforts to attract investment and promote industrial growth in Karnataka.
The minister noted that Honda has been manufacturing two-wheelers at its Narasapura facility in Kolar district since 2013, following land allotments starting in 2011.
The Narasapura plant currently produces approximately 10,000 vehicles daily and employs more than 7,800 people, Patil said.
The company also maintains a 35-acre distribution and spare parts warehouse at Adinarayana Hosahalli in Doddaballapura taluk to serve the southern region.
Patil added that Honda intends to start electric two-wheeler production at the Narasapura campus soon and said the company has not expressed any dissatisfaction with the state government.
