Karnataka: Yathindra meets Mahadevappa in Mysuru amid rift rumours
A lunch meeting between Dr Yathindra and Dr HC Mahadevappa has sparked political discussions in the Mysuru region.
Mysuru district in-charge minister Dr Yathindra met senior Congress leader and former minister Dr HC Mahadevappa at a private hotel on Sunday, according to The New Indian Express.
The meeting occurred amid speculation regarding differences between former chief minister Siddaramaiah and Mahadevappa. Mahadevappa, who served as the district minister in the previous government, was reportedly unhappy after not receiving a position in the recent cabinet expansion.
Yathindra was accompanied by former MLC Venugopal during the interaction. This meeting follows a previous discussion where Mahadevappa met with ex-ministers Tanveer Sait and Venkatesh to talk about their futures after being left out of the cabinet.
The political situation in the region includes two separate Constitution Day programmes scheduled for November 26 in Mysuru. Mahadevappa is organising one event, while Siddaramaiah and Yathindra are hosting a different programme planned by the state government.
Some party circles view Mahadevappa's event as an effort to show his political strength. The lunch meeting has led to questions about whether steps are being taken to resolve perceived differences before the 2028 Assembly elections.
