Mira Kapoor explains how she and Shahid Kapoor share parenting duties
The actor's wife shared insights on dividing responsibilities and teaching equal values to their children, Misha and Zain.
Mira Kapoor shared how she and her husband, actor Shahid Kapoor, divide parenting responsibilities for their children, Misha and Zain, during an appearance on Kareena Kapoor's talk show, What Women Want, according to a Times of India report.
Mira stated that the couple shares duties because one person cannot do everything. She explained that Shahid manages sports and diet at home, while she handles homework, birthday parties, classes, and general behaviour.
The arrangement remains flexible, as the parent at home takes over all responsibilities if the other parent has to travel.
Discussing gender roles, Mira recalled an incident where her son, Zain, challenged her after she told him he could not behave a certain way because Misha is a girl. She noted that the exchange made her realise respect and kindness should not depend on gender.
Mira said she hopes her children grow up without carrying unnecessary gender stereotypes. She aims to teach both children the same values and expectations.
The conversation also touched on the importance of spending relaxed time together, such as making family reels when Shahid is away.
