Union Education Ministry organises national CSR meet for school education

The event in Gurugram aimed to enhance coordination between the Centre, corporate organisations, and States to transform school education through Vidyanjali.

The Union Education Ministry organised the National Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Meet for School Education through the Vidyanjali digital platform on Saturday in Gurugram, Haryana, according to The Hawk.

The Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL) organised the meet to improve coordination between the Centre, corporate entities, States, Union Territories, and implementing agencies to leverage CSR for school education.

The event included a CSR-State Interaction involving representatives from corporate organisations, State Nodal Officers, DoSEL, the Programme Management Unit (PMU), and the National Informatics Centre (NIC).

This interaction allowed for networking and discussions on potential projects to support schools based on their identified requirements. Representatives from various States and Union Territories showcased their Vidyanjali experiences, including presentations from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Mizoram, and Delhi.

Implementing agencies such as ChildFund India, SARD India, Inspiring Seniors Foundation, and ETI Foundation shared perspectives on facilitating CSR engagement. Technical sessions featured representatives from the State Bank of India (SBI) and Bharti Airtel, who discussed supporting school education.

Vidyanjali is a DoSEL initiative that uses a digital platform to connect schools with volunteers and CSR partners. The framework includes a CSR Module and an Adopt-a-School Module to facilitate contributions of services, activities, and assets.
