Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann says opposition has nothing to offer state

Chief Minister Mann alleged that the Akali Dal, Congress and BJP are prioritising personal interests over public welfare in Punjab.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann alleged on Sunday that the Shiromani Akali Dal, Congress and BJP have nothing constructive to offer the people of the state, according to The Times of India.

Addressing a gathering in Punjab, Mann accused the opposition of focusing on political power and personal interests instead of public welfare. He claimed these parties work together to grab power and protect vested interests.

Mann said the Akali Dal has failed to address sacrilege incidents and has been reduced to the Badal family and a few associates. He described the Congress as a divided house where leaders are frequently at loggerheads.

The Chief Minister highlighted the Mukh Mantri Mawan-Dheeyan Satkar Yojna, noting that over 37.43 lakh beneficiaries have received Rs 1,291 crore. As of October 29, more than 80 lakh women had registered for the scheme.

Mann stated the government aims to cover one crore women through the initiative, which he claimed will provide Rs 12,000 crore in annual assistance. He said the scheme has no restrictive household-based conditions for eligible women.

Expressing confidence in the Aam Aadmi Party, Mann said he believes the party will be given another opportunity to govern in 2027. He stated voters would reject misleading propaganda and support development-driven governance.
