PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen win HYLO Open singles titles
The Indian players secured straight-game victories in the men's and women's singles finals in Germany on Sunday.
PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen claimed the women’s and men’s singles titles at the HYLO Open 2026 in Germany on Sunday, according to Telangana Today. The BWF World Tour Super 500 event concluded at the Saarlandhalle with the two Indians winning their respective finals in straight games.
In the women's singles final, second seed PV Sindhu defeated Denmark's Line Hojmark Kjarsfeldt 21-12, 21-14 in 39 minutes. Sindhu, who previously won the Japan Open this year and finished as runner-up at the French Open last week, said she took the lead from the beginning and did not give her opponent a chance.
Sindhu also defeated 19-year-old Indian Anmol Kharb in the semi-finals. The victory earned her 9,200 ranking points, according to The Pioneer.
In the men's singles category, Lakshya Sen defeated fourth seed Jonathan Christie of Indonesia 21-17, 21-10 in 39 minutes. Sen, who was the runner-up at the All England Championships earlier this year, said it felt good to win a tournament after some time.
This result marks the first time in four years that two Indian players have won two titles at a single BWF World Tour event at the Super 500 level or higher. The last time this occurred was at the 2022 India Open.
