Bihar Museum and Chanakya Foundation present Cosmic Garden exhibition

The exhibition features works by Madhvi Parekh, Manu Parekh, and Karishma Swali alongside textile pieces from the Chanakya School.

The Bihar Museum and the Chanakya Foundation have launched Cosmic Garden, an exhibition that brings together the artistic practices of Madhvi Parekh, Manu Parekh, Karishma Swali, and the Chanakya School. According to the Deccan Chronicle, the showcase explores the connection between painting, sculpture, and textile-based art forms.

The exhibition includes paintings and sculptures by Madhvi and Manu Parekh created between the late 1970s and 2023. These are displayed with large-scale interdisciplinary textile works produced with Karishma Swali and the Chanakya School.

Cosmic Garden was previously shown in 2024 as a Collateral Event of the 60th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia in Venice. The exhibition was curated by Maria Alicata and Paola Ugolini.

Director General of Bihar Museum Shri Anjani Kumar Singh said the museum is committed to bringing internationally significant exhibitions to Bihar. He noted that the exhibition celebrates the craftsmanship of women artisans and brings together art, craft, and tradition.

The Chanakya School of Craft, established in 2016, is a non-profit institution and artist collective. Since its inception, more than 1,400 women have completed training at the school, which focuses on embroidery and weaving traditions.
