KRBL shares rally 13 per cent on higher quarterly profit
The India Gate basmati rice maker reported a 51 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit for the July-September quarter.
Shares of KRBL jumped over 13 per cent to reach Rs 412 during Tuesday's trading session, according to Moneycontrol. The company reported strong earnings for the July-September quarter of the 2026-27 financial year.
The maker of India Gate basmati rice saw its consolidated net profit climb 51 per cent year-on-year to Rs 259 crore in the second quarter. This is an increase from the Rs 172 crore recorded in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Revenue from operations grew 14.3 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,727 crore, up from Rs 1,511 crore in the year-ago period. Higher domestic revenue drove this growth, which partially offset a decline in export revenue.
The company's domestic business saw revenue rise 33 per cent year-on-year, marking its highest-ever domestic revenue due to better sales volumes and realisations. However, export revenue fell 31 per cent year-on-year, mainly because of fewer shipments to the Middle East.
Consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 46 per cent year-on-year to Rs 333 crore. The EBITDA margin expanded to 19.2 per cent from 15.1 per cent in the previous year's corresponding quarter.
For the first half of FY27, KRBL's net profit reached Rs 520 crore, compared to Rs 323 crore in H1 FY26. The company's market capitalisation stands at approximately Rs 9,201.37 crore based on BSE data.
