Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav reaffirms zero tolerance for crime
The Chief Minister announced martyr status for a deceased Town Inspector and noted that 18,500 police posts were sanctioned recently.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated on Tuesday that the state will never tolerate criminal elements. According to ANI, the Chief Minister made these remarks in Bhopal following a review of the graduation ceremony for 48 new Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs).
Yadav announced that Town Inspector (TI) Dilip Puri, who died while on duty in Dewas district, has been granted martyr status. The Chief Minister promised the state will provide full support to the family of the deceased officer, including a government job for his wife.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the police department has seen nearly 18,500 posts sanctioned over the last three years. He said recruitment is ongoing for various ranks, ranging from constables to DSPs, and that training academies are currently operating at full capacity.
Yadav also noted that the government has cleared more than 65,000 promotions to address long-standing service demands and backlogs for personnel. He praised the force for maintaining internal security and curbing Naxalism.
The Chief Minister cited a recent encounter in Bhopal involving an incident with an IAS officer as an example of rapid police response. He also mentioned the 'Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy' (Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao) campaign, which included participation from Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in Bhopal.
The campaign also saw foot marches in Indore with Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and in Jabalpur with Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal.
