NSE consolidated profit rises 23 per cent to Rs 2,578 crore

The National Stock Exchange reported its first quarterly results since its September 2026 listing, with total income increasing 9 per cent.

The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) reported a 23 per cent year-on-year increase in its consolidated profit after tax to Rs 2,578 crore in the second quarter of FY27, according to reports by The Economic Times, BusinessLine and ANI.

This marks the exchange's first set of quarterly results since its debut on Dalal Street in September 2026. The consolidated total income rose 9 per cent to Rs 4,554 crore in Q2FY27, up from Rs 4,160 crore in the same quarter last year.

Revenue from transaction charges grew 9 per cent to Rs 3,035 crore, driven by higher trading volumes in the equity options and cash market segments. The cash market recorded an average daily traded volume of Rs 1,18,377 crore, a 24 per cent increase year-on-year.

Consolidated total expenditure declined 51 per cent to Rs 1,161 crore in Q2FY27 from Rs 2,354 crore in Q2FY26. The previous year's expenditure included a provision of Rs 1,297 crore for SEBI settlement fees related to colocation and dark fibre matters.

Other revenue streams also grew, with listing services increasing 70 per cent to Rs 150 crore and data feed and terminal services rising 43 per cent to Rs 165 crore. For the first half of FY27, the consolidated net profit rose 13 per cent to Rs 5,698 crore.

NSE Managing Director and CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan said the quarter was momentous as the exchange successfully completed its listing. He noted that the exchange also facilitated India's first tokenised bond issuances aggregating Rs 1,000 crore during the quarter.
