Ruhullah Mehdi accuses Omar Abdullah of betraying people of Jammu and Kashmir

National Conference MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi alleged the Chief Minister has abandoned election promises including free electricity and daily wager regularisation.

National Conference MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi accused Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of betraying the people of Jammu and Kashmir and abandoning key election promises during a public rally in Budgam on Tuesday, according to Greater Kashmir.

Mehdi alleged that Abdullah has failed to address the concerns of daily wagers, students, and young people currently in jail. He claimed the Chief Minister did not advocate for these groups despite being approached to raise their issues.

The MP stated that Abdullah has forgotten commitments made during the Assembly elections, such as providing 200 units of free electricity. Mehdi further alleged that the Chief Minister's focus has shifted toward obtaining vehicles instead of fulfilling these pledges.

Addressing Dr Farooq Abdullah at the rally, Mehdi said, "Dr Farooq Abdullah, your son is 'begairat' (unworthy), not the Kashmiri qaum."

Mehdi also claimed that Abdullah betrayed those who supported him politically, stating, "You betrayed the people, you betrayed me, you betrayed everybody. You used me."

The MP warned that the public would eventually reject the Chief Minister due to this perceived betrayal of trust, claiming the people will ensure he does not return as Chief Minister.
