The National Stock Exchange reported a profit of Rs 2,578 crore for the second quarter, marking its first quarterly results since listing.

National Stock Exchange (NSE) shares traded higher on Wednesday, November 4, after the company reported a 23 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit for the second quarter of the financial year 2026-27. According to Moneycontrol, the consolidated net profit stood at Rs 2,578 crore, up from Rs 2,098 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.

The exchange's consolidated revenue from transaction charges increased by 9 per cent to Rs 3,035 crore, driven by higher volumes in equity options and cash markets. The Hindu reported that while profit rose annually, it declined 17.4 per cent sequentially.

The company also announced that its board has approved the divestment of up to 40 per cent stake in its wholly-owned subsidiary, National Coal Exchange of India Limited, through a secondary sale of equity shares.
