Bethesda reveals official title for The Elder Scrolls VI as Sentinel

The studio released a new teaser on November 3 to mark its 40th anniversary celebrations.

Bethesda Game Studios has unveiled the official title of its upcoming game, The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, according to The Hindu. The announcement was made on November 3 during the studio's 40th anniversary celebrations.

Bethesda director Todd Howard introduced the reveal, noting that the anniversary provided a suitable time to address long-standing questions regarding the sequel. The teaser footage shows a scroll emerging from desert sands before displaying the title Sentinel.

While the name has led to speculation that the game may be set in the Hammerfell province, Bethesda has not officially confirmed the setting. The teaser did not include gameplay footage or specific details regarding the story.

The Elder Scrolls VI was first announced in June 2018 with a brief teaser of a mountainous landscape. Since that initial announcement, the studio has provided only infrequent updates on the project's development.

The new title follows The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which was released in 2011. Bethesda has not yet provided a release date, a launch window, or confirmed which platforms will host the game.
