A night bus carrying approximately 30 to 35 passengers overturned on National Highway-27 at Jorabat in Assam's Kamrup Metropolitan district around 5.25 am on Thursday, according to The Assam Tribune.

The vehicle, operated by Deep Travels, was en route from Duliajan to Guwahati when it reportedly lost control at a sharp turn on the highway.

Several people were hurt in the incident, with two passengers reported to have sustained grievous injuries. Five injured passengers were moved to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), while five to six others were taken to private medical facilities.

One passenger, who was travelling with her husband and son, said her daughter-in-law was injured and her son's arm remained trapped after the bus overturned.
