Kosgi municipality faces severe drinking water crisis in Kodangal constituency
Residents in several wards are struggling as borewells dry up and Mission Bhagiratha water supply is affected, according to Telangana Today.
The Kosgi municipality, located within Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s Kodangal constituency, is experiencing an acute drinking water crisis, reported Telangana Today.
Out of the 16 wards in the municipality, four to five are severely affected. Borewells have dried up in several areas, and the Mission Bhagiratha water supply has also been affected.
The municipality is currently providing 5,500-litre tankers to each colony and locality once every two days. However, residents claim this arrangement is inadequate for household requirements.
Locals allege that water pipelines were damaged during recent road-widening works and that repairs are progressing slowly. They also claim that water from Dandem Cheruvu is being diverted to the Hakimpet Education Hub and other regional works.
Residents in the Nagisanpally area of the fifth ward faced difficulties fetching water on Thursday after a tanker was supplied to the locality.
Locals of Kosgi and Didyala mandals are demanding that water be diverted to residential colonies to meet household needs and provide relief from the crisis.
