The edtech firm reported a consolidated net profit of ₹143.63 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026.
Shares of edtech company PhysicsWallah rose 10 per cent on Thursday, 5 November, after the firm reported that its consolidated net profit for the second quarter of FY27 had more than doubled. According to Mint, the company recorded a consolidated net profit of ₹143.63 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026, up from ₹70 crore in the same period last year.
Consolidated revenue from operations grew approximately 18 per cent year-on-year to ₹1,242.26 crore, compared to ₹1,051.24 crore in the September 2025 quarter. PhysicsWallah Founder and CEO Alakh Pandey said the company achieved record revenue and improved profitability while expanding its learner base across new categories, vernacular, and K-12.
The company's online business revenue increased 26.4 per cent year-on-year to ₹694 crore, while revenue from offline operations rose 9 per cent to ₹541 crore. NEET enrolments grew by more than 30 per cent during the quarter. The firm also noted it is taking a calibrated approach to expansion, opening 56 centres in the first half of FY27 compared to 128 in the same period of FY26.
Motilal Oswal Financial Services maintained a Buy rating on the stock with a target price of ₹200. However, Gaurav Arora, Head of Research at SAHI, noted that the test-preparation business typically sees higher enrolments in the first half of the financial year, which may make sustaining this growth momentum challenging.
